New Beginning Tai Chi Class

Class Focus: 24-form Tai Chi Quan
Our health-oriented Tai Chi class is tailored every month, with course content customized according to the student’s age and physical condition, emphasizing simultaneous learning and practicing, with one class per week/hour. It includes practices such as Qigong, meditation, and martial arts. Each class consists of two sections, before and after, with both sections recorded for teacher guidance and post-class practice.
First Half: Focuses on targeted training to enhance coordination, flexibility, and balance, aiming to strengthen basic hand-eye-body-foot skills including stretching, Qigong warm-up, and Tai Chi Quan.
Second Half: Each student is individually guided by the instructor to ensure correct posture, followed by collective practice to reinforce learning, ultimately achieving proficiency and tangible progress.
Daily homework exercises are assigned by the instructor. After the initial learning phase, students can comfortably grasp the techniques learned and experience noticeable changes in both body and mind over the course of a month, such as improved sleep, agility, mood, and vitality.
Who is suitable for learning Tai Chi Quan?
Our Tai Chi Quan aims at promoting physical fitness, nurturing character, cultivating longevity, enhancing immunity, achieving balance and abundance of Yin-Yang vitality and vitality, combining offensive and defensive skills with health preservation functions. For beginners, after the first phase of 4 practices, you will learn: basic Tai Chi skills, Wudang stepping methods, Taoist standing exercises, Five Elements Qigong, and the basic techniques of the 24-form Tai Chi Quan!
Our Tai Chi Coaches:
Professor Huang Ningsheng has been teaching Tai Chi Quan at the Minnesota Tai Chi Club and numerous universities for many years. In 2007, he traveled to Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China, to study Chen-style Tai Chi Quan under the guidance of Chen Zhengli and Zhang Zhijuan, internationally recognized masters of the highest level of martial arts, and obtained certification as a Tai Chi Quan master. In recent years, he and his team have performed excellently on stage in the Twin Cities. As a partner, he also teaches Tai Chi Quan and Chinese Kung Fu at the Minneapolis Public School District and New Star Academy.
Our Teaching Method:
